First day of spring and the weather is perfect in Big Bear.
Yes, can't ask for better. One part about spring in Big Bear, there tends to be less crowds, it (along with autumn) are slower times of the year for our mountain playground. The ski slopes are still open, "opening day" of the lake is April 1st. and the tulip's and daffodils should be on their way out soon. If you have not been up here for a while, how about a visit?

State Route 330 Emergency Closure

Where:

State Route 330 (approximate post mile = 36.25)

When:

Immediately. This is an emergency condition. The project is scheduled to be complete by mid-June, but efforts are being made to open the road back to traffic as soon as possible. Once the culvert is replaced and the roadway is put back, work will continue under one-way traffic control until the project is complete.

Why:

Failure of this culvert has resulted in a loss of slope integrity. This problem can grow to result in damaged pavement or potential sink hole conditions.

What are the roads like in Big Bear?

What are the roads like in Big Bear? Thinking of looking at property this weekend? I have been previewing properties and showing clients, but it is challenging getting to the front door on some listings, the roads are fine and parking consists of leaving the car in the street as far over as possible, out of the way of traffic. Here are some photos taken today (03/02/2010) about 1:00
